AMP (Anthracite Mountain Pedalers) is happy to announce a public ride and meeting on Saturday, November 16 at Lackawanna State Park. The ride will start at 2:00 PM and the meeting will start at 4:00 PM. We will meet at the Park Office (see Google Map) for the start of the ride; the meeting will also be in the Park Office. The Park Office is on PA-407, just south of PA-524.
The ride will be at a social pace. For the meeting, we plan on talking about who AMP is, what our goals are, and a few projects that we have decided to pursue. These projects include (1) IMBA’s Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day, (2) support for the Dave Thomas Foundation Adoption Program in conjunction with Wilkes-Barre Racing, and (3) bringing in IMBA’s Trail Care Crew for trail maintenance education. We’re definitely looking for additional ideas and people that are willing to lead our effort on them. We’d also like to spend some time discussing what can be done to improve mountain biking in our region.
A few folks have asked “Who/what is AMP?” We’ll definitely discuss this at the meeting, but to give you an idea: About Us.
